while i was playing streets of rage 2(bareknuckle 2 in japan) the other day,a question came to mind. Which beat-em up did you grow up with, streets of rage or final fight? Or perhaps another beat-em up like double dragon.

Double Dragon FTW, along with Ninja Turtles and Batman Returns, I think it was called. It was based on that realistic movie with the Penguin and all that.

Beat Em Up Brawlers are games where you walk around beating up your enemies until you're cleared to go ahead until you fight the boss. Similar to PSO hun. Street Fighter is a fighting game, but Final Fight you could say is the beat em up version of it.

i had golden axe, streets of rage, double dragon when i was a youngster. streets of rage 2 still is fun with me to this day. great to pick up on VC on wii.
i had outburst on the gameboy classic which for the time was amazing.
i enjoyed streetfighter ii on the snes, shadowfighter on the amiga and kasumi ninja/dragon: bruce lee story on the atari jaguar.
best fighter on limited technology? King of Fighters 95 on Game Boy
most underrated fighter? Die Hard Arcade for the sega saturn (essentially streets of rage 4/3d)
most beautiful fighter i have played: melty bloody act cadenza (sega naomi arcade)
awesome stuff........
basically if you think of all 90's streetfighters then thats the bulk of what i used to play!
