Did you ever feel that a game was totally awesome and got unfairly criticized, didn't become as popular as it should have, and/or just generally didn't get the credit it deserved? Now is your chance to right this wrong, to fight this injustice! (claims made by paid actors. Individual results may vary. Injustice is not guaranteed to be fought) Anyway, talk about the games you think were unfairly overlooked by the masses. tl;dr ver: OH COME ON! its 3 lines long, just read that dam thing already

an example of such an injustice would be how dynasty warriors gets a bad score because of "repetitivity",but other games likes the slew of generic first person shooters(eg. modern warfare 2), gets highly praised despite this repetitivity. what also annoys me, is the rabid fanboy/fangirl nonsense.

don't get me started on the fps genere lately. hmm i totally forgot to do a forgotten game myself didn't i? WELL LETS FIX THIS the game that made me think of this topic, Gotcha Force. Gotcha Force is a gamecube game made by capcom. It was universally panned by critics, but due to it being, well just plain fucking awesome, fans and capcom themselves place have a great love for this game. It's a game with a moderately crappy story and terrible voice acting (more laughably bad than "OH MY GOD I WANNA TEAR MY EARS OUT!" bad) Where this game really shines is THE GAMEPLAY (something alot of games lack these days) The gameplay is just amazing. Basically, the premise of the game is, ignoring the story, you control a force of toys (over 200 different toys in the game gotcha catch em all?) one at a time in a 3d environment in 2 v 2 battles, where they proceed to blast the fuck out of each other till stuff dies. When one toy (called borgs in the game) is defeated, the next one in your force comes out, until either you or your enemy runs out of borgs. Additionally, each borg has a cost value to put them on the team, with more expensive borgs costing more, and you have a limit to how much total cost you can have, so even weaker borgs get used as you can opt to spend ur points on lots of cheap borgs or a few powerful ones or somewhere in between. This sums things up nicely IMO

I came in kinda late in terms of videogames, but if I had to choose an underrated classic my vote goes to Gex, particularly numbers 1 and 2, on the PS1. They weren't anything special in terms of creativity, but the satire and jokes about the 90's are so quotable, and the gameplay so...I don't know how to describe it...hilarious maybe? Either way, it certainly has a special place in my heart.
I'd also say Legends of Legaia. I'm unsure as to its popularity, so it might not really be a "hidden gem" anymore, but if you're an RPG fan, I consider it a must. Just watch out for the meh sequel D: Tis fun, but lacks a considerable amount.

an example of hilariously bad voice acting yep thats similar to the bad of gotcha force and lol that video. makes me want to watch that vid on the worst voice acting of all time again. "in his blood? good job kid" I came in kinda late in terms of videogames, but if I had to choose an underrated classic my vote goes to Gex, particularly numbers 1 and 2, on the PS1. A gem is a gem regardless of when its released i kinda remember gex and i do remember it being pretty funny, i don't remember if i ever beat it though. Legends of legaia...what system is that for? *runs off to emulator sites*

Mhmmm, Legend of Legaia is for the PS1. The game has such nostalgia for me. I first played it way back in 3rd grade, and when I discovered emulators over summer I went crazy over the fact that I could play it again.
Also, forgot to mention Mega Man Legends 1 and 2 (also for the ps1). They're nothing super outstanding, but they're the Mega Man I grew up with. They're also working on a 3rd Mega Man Legends for the 3DS.

I actually agree. I suppose that looking back on it I kinda went the easy route (I just grabbed the massive cannon in MML1) so my opinion might be kinda...morphed. My friend and I also grind'ed the crap out of the game once we beat it to upgrade all our weapons :3 And I actually haven't beaten MML2--I have it for my ePSXe, but I've been busy playing other fun things
