A couple of my friends (who are brothers) bought PSO GC and roped me into playing offline multiplayer with them. I didn't understand the game at first but eventually I started to borrow it from them and play at home. I also played a little of Episode III, but not nearly as much as I&II.
Eventually I bought PSO+ off eBay so that we could have access to the Control Tower. I ended up selling that to a friend.
Finally, about a year ago, I decided to try playing PSO online, but discovered that Sega had closed the servers. Through Google I found Schthack PSO, and I've been here, off and on, ever since.

Let's take a trip down memory lane, shall we...err..my memory lane. I believe this is when gamecube first came outish. I reluctantly tried the game over an old friend's house after he and his buddy bugged me about it all day. I ended up really into the game, and borrowed it for a bit, then bought my own copy. I really enjoyed my first taste of PSO; it was all I played haha I actually leveled up all the way to 110 offline. Then right before sega shut down the servers, I played a bit online. Some not so good memories there (FSOD, constant character corruption) ^^;;; But anyway, I was on/off with PSO for years, and tried schthack GC, but pretty much nobody played it at the time, and the character I used was corrupted the second day T_T I decided to give Blue Burst a try in around September, and have been hooked again ever since. Can't say I've been a veteran since Dreamcast though

Man Tenshu, that brings back memories. I had my first ever copy of PSO, along with my old dusty DC stolen when someone robbed my roomate of all his/my games. When we found out who it was, the police officer was the only thing that was keeping me from pummeling him mercilessly. Still never got my system/games back.

My first PSO experience was watching FeedBot do a vHard TTF on SCHTserv in Mines on his FOmarl earlier this year. Within a month or so Hyro, Strife, and myself had downloaded the game and started ourselves. Our "first" characters were the FOnewm 'MiniMage for FeedBot, the RAmarl C.C for Strife, the RAcast Hyro for Hyro, and the HUcast Rand_Guy42 for myself. There were some other characters, but these were the first ones we really raised up to ultimate seriously.
The greatest barrier between the four of us is hardware. I built my computer to play massive Supreme Commander maps, the occasional advanced FPS, and not fall short of any system requirements for any game. Hyro has the next best computer that is half decent, and FeedBot and Strife have awful computers. PSO is the only thing we can play together online because it is the only thing we can all run.
In an effort to find another game, FeedBot and I downloaded the PSU demo for our 360's and were quite underwhelmed. We played around together for a short while until the game started to feel repetitive. I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt seeing as we only really had access to a few areas, but after extensive online research on forums and YouTube I realized that the game never changed a whole lot. I may have pursued it if there wasn't a membership fee on top of LIVE.
I have taken a casual interest in PS0 and may pick up a copy when it gets released in America. There is no membership fee and I think everyone but Strife has a DS. It seems to rift more from PSO than PSU, which I think is a good thing. Plus, there are HUnewms. I mean, seriously. HUnewms. You can't ignore the HUnewm.

Started on DC v1 and got to lv 100 offline.
Later got v2 and got to 107 on the same RAmar. Was up to vol opt ver 2 but game was glitched so I could not go above 999 atp and had to cast spells to get through ult mines. Kinda gave up for a while.
Got Xbox version and had a brief online stint, but never leveled really.
Switched to GC version and played offline. Had 147 RAmar at 400 hours 12x FOmar and HUmar too.
Much later was referred to SCHTserv by a buddy and have been here ever since.
